A1:Equitable Use, Ethical Use, Social Responsibility
Purpose/Philosophy The purpose of integrating technology into your lesson and curriculum is to engage, motivate and improve the achievement outcomes of the students. Using technology in a classroom is important because it can make it easier to differentiate the course material to properly guide the students learning based on their specific learning abilities.
- Equitable Use- Equitable use is important when it comes to integrating technology in a classroom. In order to make sure technology is useful to all students its important that there is availability. Each students can be provided with their personal computers with accessible internet in order to be successful. Technology provides that accessibility inside and outside of school allowing students to complete work. Having the use of technology as an option allows teachers to assess classroom progress while students are at home and school.
- Ethical Use- Making use of technology ethical can be done in different ways but most importantly it must be done in a safe way. Since the internet is accessible to majority of the world students are able to access any content. Making sure that teachers understand the important and are knowledgeable of computer safety and blockers are important. Teaching students to responsible while using technology is something that teachers should take into consideration.
- Social Responsibility- While using technology in the classroom it is punitive to instill responsibility into the students as well as yourself. Making sure that students are aware of the outcomes when it comes to suing technology irresponsibly should be a classroom norm. Encouraging students to use it appropriately provides students with positive interactions. You should let students know that whatever they post will never go away and they need to be mindful of things when they post. They should be aware of things such as cyberbullying, as this is something that happens when students have access to technology.
